There is a vacancy for an Apprentice Receptionist Assistant with The Village Surgeries Group. This vacancy is to join other health care professionals who deliver vital services to patients who are on the journey of improving or maintaining their health.

It is a varied role and you may find yourself on the front desk in the morning and helping with the administration function in the back office in the afternoon. No two days will be the same!

You will need to demonstrate a positive and professional impression of yourself and the GP Practice by delivering customer service to patients and customer alike. If you want to start a rewarding career then this job is for you!

 Duties include:

  • Ensuring confidentiality and data protection are observed at all times.
  • Answering the telephone.
  • Dealing with patient queries, providing a high standard of customer service.
  • Arranging hospital transport.
  • Advising patients of chargeable services and processing payments.
  • General housekeeping of reception and waiting areas.

Future prospects

Having gained a years worth of work experience and a qualification as a Customer Service Practitioner, you would be able to work as a Receptionist Administrator in the Primary Care sector or in another similar setting.

Can you get there within a reasonable time and cost? Have you got the skills and qualities to deal with patients and communicate effectively? The Village Group has 2 sites; Farndon Village Surgery, Church Lane,Farndon, CH3 6PT and Tattenhall Village Surgery, Ravensholme Lane, Tattenhall, CH3 9RE You will need to be able to get to both of these sites as there will be a requirement for you to work at both

This is a busy group that consists of 2 GP Practices serving the local community of Tattenhall and Farndon. Providing healthcare and preventative treatments. Ensuring each patients individual needs and experience are our first consideration and at the heart of everything that we do.

Training provider

You will have on the job training within the organisation, and have an assigned Assessor who will provide you with additional training sessions and assessments to gain the Customer Service Practitioner Qualification. You will have an e portfolio to work through and gather evidence during your role as a receptionist at this GP Surgery.

This qualification is assessed at the end point and is broken down into apprentice showcase, professional discussion and observation.
