    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Things to consider

The role requires you to be active all day, you will need to speak to parents & members of staff, you will need to paperwork on daily basis & willbe required to take children outside when necessary.

Training provider

A Nursery Nurse will be employed for up to 40 hours per week. Your employer will appoint a work based mentor to support you & you will get a dedicated training manager from Smart Training.

On completion of your training you will be awarded a Level 2 Certificate for the Children & Young Peoples Workforce, Level 1 Functional Skills qualification in maths and English and an Employment, Rights and Responsibilities qualification.

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.30 per hour from the 1st October 2015. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
