    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Job Summary:

To proactively work in FAB shop and in the back office, to liase with suppliers, customers and service users, take and receive phone calls, provide a welcoming environment for customers to access a range of products and services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Meeting and greeting the public in a friendly, non-judgemental manner
  • Working towards the aims and objectives of the Charity
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to customers
  • Planning ahead in order to have a successful shop and any current projects
  • Organising promotions, displays and events throughout the year
  • Managing bookings and timetables for sessions with the Charity
  • Dealing with telephone calls making and receiving them
  • Promote products and services to customers and service users
  • Developing excellent customer rapport to encourage loyalty of customer base
  • Cash Handling and responsibility of monies
  • Dealing with customer and service user complaints and problems in effective manner
  • Using social media platforms to deliver customer service and gain new customer and service users
  • Gather and analyse date from customer feedback
  • General housekeeping and cleaning of shop
  • Must be willing to undertake training in line with company requirements

We are looking for someone who is keen to develop within a customer service role, with an outgoing personality who is confident when speaking to others as you will be speaking to customers on a daily basis.

Qualifications required

No qualifications essential however A-E GCSEs or equivalent are desirable.

Things to consider

Please be aware you will be working in the company and also required to attend Alliance Learning once a week for the day release training.
