In particular, the post holder will be responsible for:

Undertaking training / experiential development in clerical duties typified by:

  • Supporting the HR and Payroll Department with day to day administration.
  • Supporting the maintenance of confidential personnel files
  • Contribute to the workflow of the HR and Payroll Operations Team, including recruitment and selection, employee records maintenance, employee contracts, absence management and induction processes.
  • Work on specific projects identified by members of the HR and Payroll team.
  • Undertake all appropriate training and development in accordance with a planned programme 

Undertaking training and experiential development in text processing duties typified by:

  • Competence Qualification
  • Knowledge Qualification
  • Combined/Knowledge Qualification
  • Employment Rights & Responsibilities
  • Functional Skills (if applicable)
  • Obtaining a detailed knowledge of the College Services provision
  • Training in the use of computer systems. undertaking any other training / experiential development as may be determined after negotiation between management, the post holder and appropriate trade unions
  • Opertating established and new technology based office equipment receiving visitors and arranging appropriate hospitality undertaking all appropriate training and staff development activity in accordance with a planned programme of development for the post
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment in accordance with the College's Health and Safety policies and procedures, in association with other colleagues and managers
  • Ensuring that all relevant work activities underpin the College's commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • Undertaking any other duties and responsibilities as may be determined after negotiation between management, the post holder and appropriate Trade Unions.

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
