Duties include the following. Others may be assigned to the needs of the business:

  • Collate tickets with jobs ready for dispatch
  • Collate and package material for dispatch
  • Prioritise work to meet varied dispatch deadlines
  • Help maintain a high level of safety, cleanliness and organisation around the workplace
  • Comply with all company and HSE Health and Safety rules
  • Ensure appropriate measures are in place to secure tangible stock in the warehouse
  • Stock replenishment
  • Help with deliveries
  • Offering excellent customer service
  • Processing stock to go onto the company’s website
  • Picking and packing
  • Preparing deliveries for dispatch
  • Tea and Coffee making
  • Supporting staff within the warehouse with any general duties
  • Taking calls from clients and processing orders
  • Ensure a good understanding of product knowledge in order to offer the best possible customer service

Minimum wage The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
