Reporting to the Team Leader:

Job Purpose

To become a fully qualified Process operator, to provide flexibility to carry out any production task in the melting department or packing and dispatch. To have a complete and overall knowledge of the processes and plant required to make Grain refiners and treatment alloys for the Aluminium Industry. Adhere to standard safe practices and procedures, environmental and legislative requirements. To be of a standard to be in the succession plan for the Team leaders role.

Principal Accountabilities/Duties

  • To work safely and to learn how to:
  • Obtain appropriate safety qualification to understand health and safety at work to help drive zero accidents.
  • Carry out production duties in line with the procedures to produce right first time quality goods. Keep up to date with latest industry training, products and recommended practices.
  • To meaningfully contribute to and support continuous improvement methods and activities. Work closely with maintenance to achieve production needs.
  • To comply with all company procedures To attend meetings when required on safety or improvements.
  • To cover absence and holidays when required.
  • To ensure H&S & Environmental procedures & authorisations are adhered to.
  • To carry out all necessary IT based & manual recording tasks relevant to the operation of the department. To maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Obtain appropriate and relevant qualification/training that will allow the post holder to become a efficient in the role
  • To undertake any other tasks required by your Manager Standards of Performance Compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and regulatory requirements. Compliance with work instructions, policies & procedures.
  • Contribution to housekeeping and cost down initiatives.
  • Work accurately & diligently with high level of attention to detail. Meet work quality & productivity standards.
  • To learn & implement new skills as required to meet business needs. High level of flexibility and availability as required to meet business needs and market demands.
