The Apprentice will mainly be working in the Screen Room and form part of a 3/4 person crew.

They will learn how to strip screens, coat screens and expose them.

We will also be investing in a new Direct to Screen technology which the Apprentice will be fully trained on.

They will also be expected to learn about the production process and learn about the printing machines themselves and how the screens are used in this part of the process.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Good level of English – reading, writing and spoken
  • Heavy lifting and manual work is part of the job so must be physically able to cope with that
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of Adobe packages: Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat; experience of Adobe InDesign preferred            
  • Good understanding of the textile screen print process (preferred)  
  • Well organised and disciplined, with the ability to prioritise workloads and use time effectively
  • Highly self-motivated and work with limited supervision
  • Ability to communicate with people confidently at all levels in a professional and mature manner
  • Willingness to proactively learn 

Personal qualities

Enthusiastic, energetic, hardworking, numerate and literate, outgoing. 

Qualifications required

  • 5 GCSEs grade A-C including English and Maths or equivalent
  • Level 1 or Level 2 in Art and Design or equivalent 

Future prospects

Very good upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
