Are you keen to pursue a career within the Joinery industry? Do you possess a desire to learn and further your skills? If so this could be the ideal apprenticeship for you. Working across the country, Global HSE is willing to pass on the years of experience their dedicated staff possess on to three successful candidates. You will produce and fit fire protection doors.
Duties will include:

  • Traveling to clients across the country
  • Logging and booking jobs
  • Machining and using manual tools
  • Attend training courses as and when needed
  • Keeping the work area clean and tidy
  • Working on live sites. This means sites that are currently in use such as Travel Lodge
  • Any other duties as and when required

Joiners can work with a range of manual and/or machine tools including:

  • Manual-tools - saws, chisels, drills, clamps, files, sanding tools
  • Wood cutting, shaping & sanding machinery
  • CNC computerised cutting equipment
  • CAD/CAM drawing & design software
  • Measuring tools - rulers, squares, calculator

Driving Licence (Fuel will be paid for). As you'll be required to work nationally across the U.K.

Qualifications required

Minimum entry requirements: Maths, English Language and ICT grades A-D*/ 9-3 (or equivalent).

Potential opportunity for a permanent role within the company following successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Things to consider

Candidate must be able to travel to the workplace according to working hours. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week). * Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours on advert will be amended accordingly to fall in line with the legislation * * Please note if the successful applicant is found prior to the closing date the vacancy maybe withdrawn early* This apprenticeship includes a day release on a Monday to the Beeston Campus each week.

Training provider

Level 2 Apprenticeship in Bench Joinery delivered over an 18-24 month period.

The apprenticeship is made up of the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 NVQ in Bench Joinery
  • Level 2 Diploma in Bench Joinery (delivered in College via a day release course)
  • Level 1 functional skills in English and maths if required
