Apprentice Vehicle Refinisher Paint Technician Nationwide Crash Repair Centres Ltd
This is an exciting opportunity to be based in the paint shop and you will learn all aspects of preparing vehicle surfaces for masking, priming and painting before buffing and polishing the paintwork of the panel to suitable finish.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
We are looking for an apprentice Paint Sprayer to join our Vehicle Technician Apprentice Programme. This is aimed at individuals with GCSE-level qualifications who wish to pursue a career in the accident repair industry.
All of our Apprentices receive extensive on-the-job training in one of our state-of-the-art bodyshops. This is complemented by a range of off-the-job training, enabling individuals to work towards a VCQ Level 3 qualification (or SVQ in Scotland), a Technical Certificate and Key Skills.

Job roles will include:
- Finding colour code and matching colour to vehicle
- Spraying out test colours for matching
- Preparing vehicles and panels
- Applying primer
- Sanding down primer
- Masking vehicles ready to apply paint
- Applying basecoat
- Applying lacquer
- Keeping workplace tidy and adhering to Health and safety regulations
- Working with a mentor

You must have or expect to gain GCSE (or equivalent) A*-C or grade 4 or above in English, Maths and either a Science or Technical subject, accredited equivalents will also be accepted.
