    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

  • General administration duties including filing, typing, action points, research
  • Arranging national and international post via courier
  • Errand running and getting lunch for Directors
  • Assist with Health & Safety arrangements for the building, keeping a schedule of updates for training, PAT Testing, assessments etc.
  • Assist with the office maintenance - booking meetings, dealing with trades, following up appointments/quotes, arranging payments
  • Printing and document arrangements for meetings
  • Stationery/office supply orders
  • Assisting with travel arrangements - flights, hotels, trains, transfers, foreign currency
  • Ordering and liasing with printers
  • Noticeboard updates
  • Filing of company contracts with full management of the filing room
  • Ad hoc cover of reception to cover holidays/sickness etc.

Desired skills

Provide support for managers and other staff members in the workplace. They perform a variety of tasks that require good communication and organisational skills. They often have industry or employer-specific responsibilities.

Personal qualities

The ability to work as an individual as well as part of a team and be respectful to team members at all times. Be an excellent communicator at all levels, via telephone and face to face. Be able to use their own initiative.

Qualifications required

A minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade D or above including English or equivalent.

Future prospects
