Duties include:

  • Installing PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, and image build systems and related software
  • Trouble-shooting hardware and software, rectifying where possible and reporting persistent faults to the IT manager
  • User account creation, maintenance and associated security of accounts; this covers a range of Microsoft applications such as Office 365, Office suite and SharePoint as well as Raisers Edge and SUN financial systems
  • Booking requests for the temporary installation of IT equipment and ensuring its availability and functionality
  • Maintaining the inventory of IT assets and equipment
  • Ensuring IT loan equipment are available as required to meet user need.

Network Systems

  • Assisting the UK Systems Support officer in the maintenance of networking equipment
  • Configuring user shares and permissions on servers and SharePoint sites


  • To assist in new staff IT induction
  • To keep up to date with new products the IT area as and when they are introduced

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Some understanding of Microsoft computer applications.

Personal qualities

Need to be self- motivated, willing to learn and able to relate well to people. Should enjoy working with people and helping them solve problems.

Qualifications required

A-C maths and English or equivalent.

Future prospects

Yes within the IT team as skills develop. Possible continuation of training towards more experience for right candidate

Things to consider

Role requires a bit of lifting of equipment – within H&S guidelines and training will be given. Would not exclude female candidates Should have own transport although moving to Rugby town centre early 2018
