    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

  • Initially to be trained by Samie Dawson
  • Answering phone calls in busy periods and taking messages only in the early stages
  • Learning a vast range of products
  • Liaising with the sales team on a daily basis with regards to order queries
  • Contact suppliers if requested to do so by team leaders when additional information is required
  • Once trained up and when we are confident that enough experience has been gained then the answering of sales calls can be done every time the lines are busy
  • When vacancies become available in sales then the order inputter will be expected to progress into a full time sales role
  • At this stage they would be asked to train the next apprentice that joins the business

Things to consider

The candidate must be able to commit to completing an Intermediate Level Apprenticeship through half day release, whilst fulfilling the job role. Candidates will be required to attend National Business College for an interview and assessment
