    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The Employer and the Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to work in an exciting and ever-changing environment.  From pop up restaurant to fast food take away and delivery to creating Spanish fusion dishes and tapas.

Capitan Tortilla, based in White post Lane, E9 is a new concept restaurant specialising in delicious and creative Spanish food.  They are looking for a highly motivated and flexible Apprentice to work alongside the business owner.  The business owner is forward thinking and willing to train the right person to assist her in the running and growth of the business.

Training:

  • You will be trained on the job and with the help of JACE Training to achieve a City & Guilds Level 2 Food Production Certificate.  In addition, Maths and English qualifications will be included if needed.
  • There may be the opportunity to progress onto a higher-level qualification, on successful completion of Level 2.
