This will include:

  • Reception, telephone handling, document filing and archiving to spread sheet, mail management and office IT updates
  • The successful candidate will be able to display a high standard of professional presentation and conduct in an interesting but rewarding role
  • Working within the Accounts & Admin Department, you will report to the Office Manager
  • To act at all times in the best interest of the firm and it's clients
  • To act at all times in accordance with the policies and procedures contained in the latest version of the firm's Office Manual particularly in respect of accounting practices, money laundering and administrative procedures
  • To maintain own work area and equipment, as well as any other areas or equipment, you come into contact with, in a safe and tidy state, and report any hazards to the Health & Safety officer
  • To produce word processed documents & correspondence as instructed by fee earner(s) in the house style with a high degree of accuracy and speed
  • To provide cooperation and support to other secretarial staff as required
  • To receive and record telephone enquiries/messages on behalf of fee earner and deal with or pass on as appropriate without delay
  • To make appointments, arrange meetings, diarise file reviews and maintain an up to date diary
  • To assist fee earners in keeping up to date and orderly matter files
  • To receive relevant training from time to time as identified by the partners and use any new skills/knowledge/responsibilities in daily work as appropriate To deal with any other reasonable requests made by the partners from time to time
  • Assist with cashier duties including time and data entry onto the accounts system

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
