We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Business Administrator to join a specialist recruitment business, based in Withington, Manchester.

You would be joining a unique company with a very professional approach, and this is a hands-on role, in a very proactive team. You need to be confident in dealing with people, enjoy multitasking and problem-solving, and have good PC skills.

General duties and responsibilities include:

  • Handling incoming calls/emails
  • Sending and chasing references
  • Formatting CVs
  • Sending out email marketing
  • Completing and updating spreadsheets
  • Placing and updating job advertisements on websites
  • Collating statistics
  • Responding to emails
  • Administration of pre and post interview documentation
  • Data entry and cleansing of client and candidate database
  • Diary management
  • Promotion of goods and services
  • Provide a high level of customer service
  • Accounts administration
  • Sales order processing/administration
  • Assisting department on various administration tasks
  • Liaising with other team members to achieve objectives
  • Updating files, updating the database
  • Sending out offer letters to both clients and candidates
  • Sourcing candidates for roles through database and websites
  • Updating website and blog
  • Updating social network sites
  • Speculatively sending out abbreviated CV for candidates actively seeking work

Qualifications required

Minimum Grade C for GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).

Future prospects

Successful candidates will be able to progress to a permanent role within the business if the business is satisfied that the candidate is suitable for the role and has successfully completed their apprenticeship.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Training provider

  • Full Business Admin Apprenticeship incorporating NVQ at Level 2, where evidence will be gathered to build a portfolio showing your competency within the role.
  • Functional Skills to include Maths, English and IT (depending on award and previous qualifications) where a tested part will be completed. 
  • Complete a Technical Certificate to underpin your knowledge of working in the sector, this also comes with a tested part.
  • Full on the job training will also be provided by the employer as well as further external training opportunities.
