  • To book goods onto the Sage200 system from production or external supply
  • To create despatch sheet from Sage/Excel  and keep it up-to-date during the day
  • To pack goods ready for stock or despatch
  • To generate delivery notes and other despatch paperwork as necessary
  • To manage the paperwork generated by the despatch department
  • To book carriers on a daily basis to meet the requirements of the Company
  • To generate consignment notes and airway bills for a variety of UK and export carriers
  • To contract carriers to undertkae shipments on behalf of the Company
  • To advise Customer services of shipment problems
  • To provide P.O.D. to customers on request
  • To carry out periodic stocktaking to ensure that the stock records are accurate
  • To investigate any stock discrepancies
  • To GRN Production materials and issue to relevant department/stock location
  • Keep the finished stock locations accurate on Sage 200
  • To load and unload vehicles using forklifts or other manual lifting equipment
  • To ensure that the workplace is kept cleanj and tidy at all times
  • All employees have health and safey responsibilities as outlined in the Company Health and Safety Policy Document.  Additional responsibilities (if acceptable) are also defined according to position within the organisation.  Managment and Supervisory staff should be aware that they have a responsibility to ensure the health, safey and welfate of those under their direct control.

Qualifications required

Ideally GCSE Maths and English A*-C this is not essential because as part of the Apprenticeship we will train learners up to Functional Skills L2 if they do not possess English and Maths grades A-C

Things to consider

Can be heavy lifting involved, the despatch department can be fast paced at times so candidate need to be able to work quickly to meet deadlines.

Functional skills at Level 1 in Maths, English and I.T. (if required)

All training to be delivered in the wokplace and on a one to one basis with tutor/sassessor support
