Are you the "go to person" for all your friends and family's technology needs? As a technician with Digital3rd you'll do this and develop the skills and the confidence to empower people to use technology to change the way they work.

We're looking for a team of tech savvy, special people to help us achieve this. The successful candidate will not only be technically minded and experienced with Software, Networking and PC Hardware but will have a positive attitude with a keen eye for problem solving and customer service. Digital3rd delivers a comprehensive range of IT and digital services and during the apprenticeship will make a positive contribution through:

  • Helpdesk work - first line IT support through telephone advice and problem solving
  • Dealing with and resolving a wide range of IT issues for clients, taking advice from expereinced colleagues as necessary
  • Logging calls to the support desk
  • Ensuring clients are appropriately charged
  • Assisting experienced consultants in a range of tasks, some at clients premises, including:
  • Fault fixing
  • Re-configuring routers
  • Installing printers and routers
  • Re-building laptops
  • Installing operating systems
  • Large projects on site, such as building servers, working with phone systems etc
  • Microsoft 365 migration

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

This role would suit someone with a proven interest in IT, who is technically minded and experienced with Software, Networking and PC Hardware with a positive attitude and a keen eye for problem solving and customer service. You'll have completed:

  • Installing operating systems
  • Updating Software
  • Installing hardware - hard drives, ram, graphics cards etc
  • Partitioning drives
  • Setting up Wifi/routers/local networks

You'll also be confident in using Microsoft Office, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to solve problems and work in a team.

Personal qualities

  • There are a limited amount of places available and competition is high.  You will need to show that you are committed and aware of your responsibilities to both yourself and our employers
  • You also need to demonstrate that you have the ability to work as both part of a team and individually.

Qualifications required

You'll need to have 5 GCSE's Grade A-C (or equivalents) including English Language and Maths with an interest in business and an aptitude for technology.

Future prospects

Your time with Digital3rd will give you a great start to your IT career and it is anticipated that you will progress into a role where you can complete a Level 4 apprenticeship and then onto a degree if you desire.
