    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

A normal day would include

  • Putting clients on cover
  • Completing mid term adjustments
  • Administration duties
  • Cash handling
  • Calling clients to arrange Insurance cover
  • Making changes to clients Insurance policies
  • Putting monies together to construct the daily banking
  • Making files for new clients
  • Auditing (checking clients files) to ensure we are compliant with regulation

Qualifications required

GCSEs, or equivalent qualifications, including English and maths at grade C or above. A Levels or equivalent level 3 qualifications desirable but not essential.

Atlantic and Pacific Insurance is a growing business within the UK. Since established in 2010, we have already have 3 offices in Lancashire with another office in the pipeline late 2017. Friday is dress down day for the business. Our company is a friendly family run business with the Company Directors taking a very hands on approach.
