In order to bw a successful CNC Programmer/Setter you will need to complete the following responsibilites:

  • Using & interpreting Engineering Drawings
  • Identification of different materials
  • Identification of specific tooling and use of
  • Programming and setting of CNC machine tools
  • The use of measuring and inspection equipment 
  • The use of hand tools and equipment
  • Identifiying opportunties for improvement in manufacutring processes

  • An apitude for Engineering
  • The ability to interpret Engineering Drawings 
  • Good practical skills

Personal qualities

You must:

  • Have an interest in Engineering
  • Be able to adapt to the Engineering environment

Qualifications required

GCSE Grade C or above in Maths, English & Science (or equivalent)
