To assist in the provision of a front line postal service to students and staff on Roehampton Lane Campus, though may be required to work at Mount Clare post room occasionally.

  • To sort the incoming centralised student mail and to pigeonhole all mail for Froebel, Digby Student College and Southlands.
  • To drive the Post Room van to collect and distribute mail.
  • To assist with keeping a record of all special, recorded and courier deliveries delivered and dispatched.  Arrange collection from Couriers for urgent University mail.
  • To follow work regulations to ensure security of all mail collections and deliveries.  To be aware of confidentiality when opening mail this is not clearly addressed.
  • To check all available resources for finding students and staff by checking QL, Kinetics & Staff directory online.
  • To prioritise tasks in all aspects of day to day office procedures in the postal area.
  • To provide a range of clerical and administrative support to mailroom services including assisting with the collection of feedback from customers to ensure continuous service improvement.
  • To respond to external and internal enquiries and provide information as required.
  • To check daily all mail areas are clear and report any Health and Safety issues.
  • To work as part of a team and participate in team development activities.
  • To undertake any other appropriate duties in other sections of ECS/LTMS as required on occasion ensuring that the University’s core priority services are maintained at all times.

Qualifications required

You will have GCSEs (or equvilent) in Maths and/or English A-C/9-4 the other must be no lower than a D/3

Driving around campus is an essential part of this role so a valid driving licence is essential
