To assist in the Main Office and provide support to the Accounts Supervisor, with special responsibility for the Purchase Ledger.

Purchase Ledger:

  • Maintenance of Purchase Ledger.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and verify prices and quantities.
  • Match delivery notes to invoices.
  • Verify stock records to invoices and raise queries as necessary.
  • Liaise with Purchasing Office and Budget Holders as appropriate.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation statements.
  • Speak with suppliers on the telephone to resolve queries.
  • Produce BACS payment runs as required.

General duties will include: 

  • Telephone/Switchboard duties.
  • Emails – receive and distribute, scan documents as required.
  • Photocopy machine – maintain machine and photocopy documents as required.
  • Outgoing mail – process on a daily basis.
  • Company noticeboards – keep up to date.
  • Word process correspondence relating to the Purchase Ledger and any other documents required.
  • Prepare Conference Room for Visitors including laying out refreshments/drinks.
  • Maintain visitor information screen and welcome visitors to the Company.
  • Any other duties as required by the Finance Director or any other senior member of staff.

Qualifications required

Maths and English A-D Grade GCSE or equivalent. The ideal candidate will be keen to learn, well-presented and have excellent attention to detail.
