To join our existing quality team at Pollington, East Yorkshire

Reporting to the Process Supervisor, the successful candidate will need to be able to work independently or as part of a team, and follow strict health & safety procedures. This is a day position, which will develop over time. The ideal candidate can expect to be involved in all aspects of the process, quality, environmental and safety systems on site.

  • To provide all aspects of office and administration support to the team to support this process including:
    • Data input
    • Use of Word and Excel
    • Telephone work
  • Carrying out testing of raw materials and finished block quality, to ensure compliance with our accreditation to the quality standard ISO 9001:2015
  • To understand the production process, in particular the roles of the process technicians who make adjustments to the mix parameters to ensure product manufactured is of the highest quality

Candidates should have:

  • At least five GCSE passes including English & Mathematics at grades A* to C or above (or equivalent)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Flexibility to adapt to new situations

Things to consider

The site is based between Eggborough in North Yorkshire, and Snaith in East Yorkshire. The successful candidate must be able to make their own way to and from the place of work. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

About the employer

Manufacturers of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) Blocks at two sites, one at Borough Green in Kent and one at Pollington in East Yorkshire. The Pollington site has two manufacturing facilities, each operating a 24/7 production process with a combined site total of 130 employees.
