Getting to grips with designing, developing and implementing web applications to provide solutions for a range of clients, you’ll produce high-quality code that complies to industry standards, occasionally with some front-end development activity too, becoming an integral member of the development team by ensuring code quality and functionality are well tested (unit tests and similar) before presenting to clients and bugs are fixed in a timely manner.

Friendly, approachable, calm and flexible, you’ll be able to interact with business users to gather requirements, analyse requirements and develop sound and effective solutions and keep projects running smoothly by delivering outcomes on time and on budget and going the ‘extra mile’ in representing the agency.
A self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude and a passion for tech, you will have some previous experience with C# and MVC principles, some practical experience of version control tools (such a Git) and some basic understanding of CMS frameworks (Umraco, Episerver, Sitecore, etc) and be expected to provide technical insight to other departments to support our delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with senior developers to design, build and support application, using company tools, systems and data, and taking ownership of all technical projects you are assigned to, managing and executing code accordingly
  • Demonstrating some working knowledge of OO, keeping project and technical documentation updated including progress and code release, building and maintaining scalable APIs and consuming social and other third party APIs
  • Contributing opinions and ideas for applying new and emerging technologies and ways of working, understanding technical problems, designing, coding and managing the solutions, seeking out new and creative methods, and actively contributing and being a part of the creative solution across the full technical remit
  • Demonstrating a cooperative spirit, working with the Interface team to deliver high quality, cross browser, cross device code, integrating with dynamic components, contributing to a positive and supportive working environment across the team, and working collaboratively with other teams
  • Managing version control using Agency standard tools such as Git, providing status reports and updates as required, ensuring work is always of high quality and knowing what the agency can offer clients
  • Working closely with other developers and teams in Digital, UX and Project Management and developing effective relationships in other departments with a sound understanding of what they do and how they do it
  • Being fully conversant in digital technology required for the role, demonstrating some basic experience of MSSQL and IIS, contributing to overall technical solution and presenting technical ideas confidently
  • Finding innovative solutions to development issues and challenges, coding cleanly and efficiently and taking 100% ownership of your work to deliver the best possible outcome and digital solution, making a positive contribution by taking the initiative to improve ideas and solutions
  • Maximise every available digital touch point to enhance and deliver an exceptional customer experience which connects to our direct customers (clients), and to their customers (end users) to transform their products and services as well as generating real value
  • Using insight and data to drive the creation and end product for all digital solutions, demonstrating your expertise to understand audiences, user behaviour, campaign performance and data sources in daily decision making

  • Experience with Git and related methodologies

  • Any experience of content management systems such as Umbraco, Sitecore, EPiServer, Ektron, etc advantageous
  •  Build tool systems such as Team City, Jenkins and Bamboo
  • Previous experience working in a digital agency environment

Qualifications required

  • At least 5 grade A*- C GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths
  • 3 A levels grades A*- C or equivalent

Due to the nature and level of the work and the prior experience and knowledge expected candidates must be over 18 years of age.
