A normal day would include

  • Continually working to develop your skills and knowledge throughout your apprenticeship with the aim of becoming a fully competent member of the team on completion
  • Working as part of a team to fulfil targets, according to production schedules and order deadlines
  • Follow work instructions carefully to ensure products are built to a high quality, and conform to relevant safety standards
  • Assemble products that form an essential part of medical gas pipelines
  • Be motivated to work and have initiative to be able to work alone
  • Become competent in the building and testing of multiple products that the company produces

Qualifications required

The successful candidate will have achieved GCSE minimum Grade C in Maths, English and Science or equivalent. Good I.T. skills with GCSE Grade C or equivalent level of achievement is also required.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
