We are a print/print finishing company looking to employ an apprentice Pre Press Operator to work in our busy factory in Stourton, Leeds. The Apprentice will learn:

  • How to prepare work to go onto a M600 & Polyman Web Press.
  • To include the preparation of plates, checking art work and occasionally creating art work.
  • The candidate must have an interest in IT, with knowledge of Apple Mac along with Adobe Acrobat would be an advantage.
  • All aspects of Health & Safety will be covered.

It is this flexibility within our staff that means we can adapt for the future at any time. We are seeking a well-motivated individual with a keen interest to learn, and a can do, will do attitude.

The apprentice will be working in a very busy environment where jobs have to be completed on time giving high regard to quality. There will be times when a particular job is laborious yet candidates will still be required to remain motivated.  They have to be punctual, reliable and motivated.

Qualifications required

  • GCSEs are an advantage; however no formal qualification is required for this role.

Future prospects

Prospects are dependent upon the drive and enthusiasm of the candidate, but realistically with further training and experience this can lead to further progression to Pre-Press Operator on shift.

Pay reviews will be conducted dependant on individual performance. Vacancy will close early if the right candidate is found - apply early to avoid disappointment. Please note you may be contacted via e-mail for interview. From 1st April 2017 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
