Main role/responsibilities:

The apprentice post will supply administrative support to the firm:

  • They will primarily deal with incoming emails and letters received by the organisation along with setting up cases and creating tasks for further investigation and response.
  • As the apprentice develops, we envisage introducing more direct customer service work into the role where they will be responsible for directly managing any requests and tasks.
  • They may also be requested to deal with phone calls from consumers and be expected to supply help and guidance where needed.
  • They will also be required to chase for evidence on cases awaiting progression and provide updates to customers.
  • In addition to this, they will be required to provide general support on closed cases - liaising with parties where necessary to determine if the agreed resolution or directed remedy has been carried out - before the cases are closed.
  • The apprentice will also be expected to provide support around correcting discrepancies on the case management system.
  • They will also be responsible for recording the receipt of evidence sent to us containing information pertinent to our cases ensuring that the evidence is retained and destroyed in line with our policies.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Training provider

Approximately 3% of training takes place in the QA learning centre classroom. 17% is done in the workplace, through workplace units, face-to-face meetings with your QA Assessor, or developing your portfolio. The remaining time will be spent on your workplace activity.
