You will work as part of a team to provide customer service and administrative support to the UK and Ireland wholesalers and office departments.

Your Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Answer incoming calls in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
  • Dealing with enquiries and taking and relaying accurate messages.
  • Process customer orders.
  • Receive visitors, escort them to meeting rooms and provide them with refreshments as appropriate.
  • Distribute incoming post.
  • Ensure fire alarm procedures are adhered to, including fire alarm testing
  • Prepare outgoing post and assist with courier deliveries.
  • Assist with meeting planning and travel – flights/trains etc.
  • Photocopying and printing of various documents, sometimes on behalf of other colleagues.
  • Creating and managing filing systems.

Key Performance Indicators will be:

  • Calls answered in a timely manner with messages collated and distributed accurately.
  • Fire audit checks are passed.
  • Efficient, accurate and cost effective meeting and travel planning undertaken.
  • Relationship building with key business stakeholders.
  • Accurate maintenance of filing systems and confidential business documentation.

Things to consider

The location of the office is quite remote and in a rural area so you need to consider how you will get to the office each day. There is an annual salary review for all staff, award is based upon performance. There is an opportunity to purchase extra days holiday to a maximum of 5 days in any calendar year. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
