To begin with, your duties will be administrative as follows:

 

  • Answering the telephone, dealing with general enquiries and taking effective messages
  • Deal with online queries and emails
  • Placing orders for medication with suppliers online and by telephone
  • Chasing outstanding queries with GPs
  • Preparing outbound deliveries
  • Liaising with the delivery driver to ensure deliveries occur in a timely manner
  • Faxing
  • Scanning
  • Photocopying

When you have settled into your role, your new employer would like to help you to understand prescriptions, medication branding, medication preparation. If you are keen to do so, your employer would like to fund your dispensing qualification in due course.

 

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.

An apprenticeship is an on the job learning programme that allows you, the apprentice, to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. As part of your apprenticeship and dependent on your prior attainment you may be required to complete Maths, English and ICT Functional Skills which are an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition.
