The job role will include carrying out preventative maintenance activities on mechanical equipment, dealing with breakdowns, restoring components and systems to serviceable condition by repair and replacement.

Daily duties will include:

  • Using and interpreting engineering data and documentation.
  • Carrying out engineering activities efficiently and effectively.
  • Handing over and confirming completion of maintenance or installation activities.
  • Carrying out fault location on mechanical equipment.
  • Carrying out maintenance activities on mechanical equipment.
  • Restoring mechanical components to usable condition by repair.
  • Provide support to a high standard of accuracy and presentation.
  • Operate machinery.
  • Work with experienced employees.

The Apprentice will be mentored by an experienced engineer. Duties will include hands-on assistance with the production of finished products. Once trained you will operate machinery and play a key a key role in the operation.

Desired skills

  • Must have an interest in Engineering and Manufacturing, while also being prepared to work as part of a team.
  • No experience is required as full trainig will be provided, but you must be prepared to apply yourself to a full time position.
  • You will have a good understanding of both maths and english.

Qualifications required

  • GCSE, or equivalent, Maths and English (A-C).

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for £3.50 (from 1st April 2017) per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. Expected Apprentice Duration: At least 12 months.
