    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at a business with a network of 30 timber and builders' merchant branches geographically spread across the country, complemented by dedicated manufacturing divisions supplying class-leading windows and doors and highly specialist timber engineering products and services. They are looking to recruit a motivated Customer Service Apprentice. 

For the right candidate some of your daily duties will include: 

  • Answering calls regarding enquires and orders offering a high level of Customer Service
  • Dealing with customers on a daily basis that visit the Trade Centre assisting with enquires
  • Serving customers on the till and taking payments
  • Ensuring high customer service at all times.
  • Completing Administration duties as and when required including Filing and organising paperwork.
  • Dealing with minor complaints and being aware when complaints need to be escalated to a supervisor
