    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Working with a friendly and super team of trained fitters, you will be trained in a wide range of glass and glazing skills, including power tools, specialist cutting tools and setting up scaffolding. This vacancy is moo you will be in a van visiting different depots every day. The work is varied and interesting.

Duties will include

Making sure van is stocked up for your jobs for that day.... Identifying which glass you will need for the job form our base....loading and unloading glass onto and from van ......Assisting with the preparing glass to be fitted..... Assist with fitting glass in to a bus/coach..... Cleaning up glass.... Keeping van/unit tidy.

We strive to provide a high standard of workmanship and customer service, and the successful candidate must be keen to meet these standards. Previous experience is not necessary, we are, above all looking for someone with good practical ability/skills (or the potential to develop them),a polite professional attitude and the capability to work under instruction.


Requirements and prospects

  • Previous experience is not necessary, but we are looking for someone with aptitude for practical work, and to be able to work on their own when fully qualified
  • Clean driving licence due to travelling to sites.

None but needs an interest in developing knowledge and skills.

Future prospects

Excellent future prospects for the right candidate. On successful completion of the apprenticeship training we would ideally be looking for someone to join as a qualified glazier technician.

Things to consider

Applications must be able to lift and carry glass and heavy objects (you will be trained in safe handling methods). Some jobs will involve working outside and at height on scaffolding (training will be given). The work is physically demanding at times. Candidates must be over the age of 18 to work the hours.
