As a Web Developer you would be responsible for working on a range of diverse projects. Your assignments could include:

  • Website Development
  • Bespoke web applications development
  • Mobile App development

As an apprentice, you will have an understanding of Web Development and possibly App development and will be keen to learn and move to the next level.

Desirable Skills

You will need to be willing to learn new skills and have the drive to take on new challenges and make things happen. The ideal candidate would have some knowledge of one or more of the following:

  • Object Oriented Programming
  • HTML5
  • CCS
  • jQuery
  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • Experience of CMS systems such as Wordpress and Magento

Training provider

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship (typically 15 months) you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Bristol for 16 days of training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship standard –Software Development Technician.

The qualifications consist of:

  • Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths (if applicable)
  • Knowledge Module 1 – Software Development Methodologies Part 1 (Introduction)
  • Knowledge Module 2 – Programming Part 1 (Introduction)
  • Knowledge Module 1 – Software Development Methodologies Part 2 (Plus Exam)
  • Knowledge Module 2 – Programming Part 2 (Plus Exam)
  • Knowledge Modules are specified by the British Computer Society (BCS)
