    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

DUTIES

  • To actively promote the values and ethos of the Trust
  • To take responsibility for meeting and greeting visitors to the office
  • To support the team with co-ordinating internal and external meetings and events
  • To respond to and forward if appropriate incoming enquiries by phone and email
  • To manage all incoming and outgoing post
  • To input data onto the finance system including purchase orders, goods received notes, invoices, payments, receipts, supplier information etc.
  • To scan, file and store financial records including invoices, expenses forms, remittance advice notes etc
  • To be involved in regular liaison with the team to ensure effective communications and the smooth running of the central support function.
  • To attend meetings as note taker and support the production of papers and agendas for the meetings and minutes afterwards
  • To operate relevant equipment/ICT packages including a bespoke Finance package
  • To ensure all records that you work with are stored and archived in a sensible and logical manner, and kept up-to date, providing a suitable audit trail
  • To assist colleagues whenever necessary in supporting the functions of the Trust
  • To provide general administration support e.g. photocopying, filing, completion of standard forms etc
  • To participate in training and other learning activities
  • To work within, be aware of and support compliance with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, financial management, confidentiality, personnel management and data protection

Qualifications required

  • The ideal candidate would have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) as a minimum, including Maths and English
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
