Apprentice Administrator Bowness Primary School
Working in the office of a primary school, duties will include: general administration, answering phones, greeting people, looking after visitors, monitoring emails, updating the website, writing letters and emails, monitoring the school’s database, orders, taking payments.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
The position is to work in the main office of a primary school. Duties will include:
- answering the phones
- greeting people
- looking after visitors
- monitoring emails
- taking attendance
- updating the website
- writing letters to parents
- keeping the school’s database up-to-date
- looking after purchasing and invoices
- taking payments from parents for school meals etc
- working with the Parents/Teachers Association
- assisting Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team in general school administration.
Full training will be given to the right candidate – including training in customer service when dealing with parents, inspectors, governors and the public both on the phone and in person. Computer training will include the use of SIMs (the school’s management database), the online purchasing systems along with knowledge of orders, deliveries and invoices,
The salary includes term time plus two weeks. The extra two weeks are to be taken as required: i.e. evenings helping out on parents evening or attending training,
Requirements and prospects
- Computer literate

- Willing to learn and progress
GCSE Grades A*-C in maths and English (or equivalent)
