We are looking for an ambitious individual who has a strong interest in pursuing a career in the food industry.

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and driven individual to join our small and friendly close knit team within a new environment.

You will be studying to achieve the Level 2 Diploma in Food Production and Cooking, supporting the catering manager as well as other members of the team with the smooth running of the kitchen.

You will assist with the preparation of food storing and cooking of food within the kitchen ensuring that all processes are carried out in a hygienic and safe manner.

We are looking for someone who has the drive and desire to learn, and has a strong interest in food, who would like to follow a career within the food industry, therefore making this a very exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to do this.

None required, however English and Maths will be tested as part of the interview process.

Things to consider

Realistically you will be standing all day. In the summer the kitchen can get warm. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
