    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

An exciting opportunity to work for a gym in Caistor, Lincolnshire.

We are looking for a person who is motivated, proactive and passionate about health and fitness. 

Daily duties will include:

  • Promote the club and welcome new members.
  • Be a main point of contact with our members.
  • Supervision of the gym floor, staff and members.
  • Input and update member details using sophisticated member management software.
  • Complete all administration in connection with membership, booking of classes, keeping member details up to date.
  • Delivering induction and fitness programmes to new members.
  • Assist in keeping the gym clean and tidy.
  • Sales of goods including sports drinks and refreshments.
  • Any additional duties conducive to the role.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Must have practical experience working within gym or leisure facilities, be customer service focused and have a passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals.

Qualifications required

Must be Level 2 qualified in Fitness Instructing.

Things to consider

Own transport or living local to Caistor would be beneficial as the start/finish times are outside of public transport provision.

The gym offers’ a full range or fitness equipment including cardio, resistance machines, Olympic standard weights bay and much more. As well as the main fitness suite, there is studio designed to run classes throughout the day and evening, again suitable for all fitness levels.
