    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

As a Nursery Nurse apprentice you will learn from our experienced members of staff while working towards your apprenticeship qualification.

Your daily duties will include:

  • Assisting the nursery nurses in their day to day duties
  • Learning to deliver the EYFS curriculum to our children
  • Learning how to develop children's learning through play
  • Bonding with our babies and establishing good attachments
  • Being clean, hygienic and healthy
  • Teaching the children the benefits that exercise and healthy eating has on their bodies

Working week is 40 hours over Monday to Friday.

All training will be delivered in the work place with no requirement for day release to college. You will be mentored by experienced members of staff while developing your skills to a nationally recognised industry standard.
