    £140.00

    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

    3 days per week from 9am - 6pm with one hour lunch 1 day per week from 9am - 7pm with one hour lunch Saturday from 9am - 5pm with one hour lunch Flexible hours, to be discussed during interview

Renaissance Hair are a small, independent, boutique salon. They have long been established but remain both modern and vibrant. They have a small team who pride themselves on providing a first class service who are also involved with the local community and with charities.

The apprentice will be expected to 

  • Greet and serve refreshments to clients
  • Shampoo and assist stylists
  • Help keep the salon tidy and work on reception

Full practical training will be given in the salon and as the candidate progresses through the apprenticeship they will take on more roles and build up a client list

Future prospects

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to become a full-time stylist within the salon and to attend training courses in the salon

Things to consider

• One late night per week • Working Saturdays • Hairdressing is physically hard work and you will be on your feet for a long time every day • Hairdressing requires some understanding of human biology and chemistry, and this will be taught during your Apprenticeship • Hairdressing is heavily customer-focused and you will be constantly interacting with people
