    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The Role:

An opportunity has arisen for an Outbound Telesales apprentice in this fast paced small office where you will be working as part of the team. So if you have a “can do” attitude, a happy personality and great communication skills, then we could have just the job for you.

The Main Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Answer calls and respond to e-mails.
  • Handle customer inquiries both telephonically and by e-mail.
  • Research required information using available resources.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints.
  • Provide customers with product and service information.
  • Enter new customer information into system.
  • Update existing customer information.
  • Process orders, forms and applications.
  • Identify and escalate priority issues.
  • Route calls to appropriate resource.
  • Follow up customer calls where necessary.
  • Document all call information according to standard operating procedures.
  • Complete call logs.
  • Produce call reports.

Qualifications required

GCSE Grades A-C in English, Math’s and ICT or equivalent is preferred but not essential as full training will be delivered.

Things to consider

From April 2017, The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
