We are recruiting for a passionate and dedicated apprentice Chef to join our team at The Cottage. We strive to deliver friendly service alongside, fantastic food and beer.

You will work alongside a motivated and passionate team, to create and deliver an local, fresh and seasonal menu of dishes.

We aim to deliver outstanding food in picturesque countryside, with friendly service in an historic building.

The ideal Chef will be keen and able to learn, working on all sections helping to produce fantastic food. You will be supported by both the Kitchen team, Front of house Team and the Group Development Chef. This is a great opportunity for someone to develop a career and climb through the ranks.

Qualifications required

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) good level of English and Maths.
  • Driving Licence would be of benefit but not essential.

Future prospects

Full time position for the right candidate with ongoing training and support to develop up the ranks.

Things to consider

This job requires hard work and dedication, but with the right attitude and commitment will see the successful candidate develop from strength to strength with the support and guidance of experienced Chefs and Managers. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
