Tecsew manufacture Marine canvas products for leading UK yacht importers and private clients. We are looking to take on an apprentice with a view long term employment within our company. The positions would ideally suit anyone with a keen interest in working in the marine leisure market and with an interest in sailing and motorboats. Experience of sailing would be beneficial although not absolutely necessary.


Applicants will need to be fit and able as some climbing of ladders and agility is required when working on yachts out of the water. The role will involve:

  • Learning most aspects of frame design,
  • Manufacture,
  • CNC file production,
  • Finishing of products in house,
  • Packaging and dispatch
  • Will also require applicants to work on site fitting our products to various yachts and motor boats

Personal qualities

Attention to detail, pride in the job and a desire to be the best in the industry are all attributes we would like applicants to be able to demonstrate as part of the apprenticeship.

Qualifications required

Maths, English and ICT- A-C GCSE Grade or equivalent to Level 2 Functional Skills.

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
