We are seeking to recruit an administration apprentice to work within our operations department based at our Albrighton offices.

An apprentice at Boningale Ltd will develop a range of skills on site underpinned with knowledge gained from training provided by Telford College

Accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Provide a high quality service to internal colleagues, other departments and visitors.
  • Provide administrative support to the operations departments, liaising and communicating with other departments as necessary.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the nursery stock database, and assist with regular stock checks on the nursery.
  • Inputting data, updating and keeping records as directed.
  • Assist with collating and analysing data, to produce various reports.
  • Any other appropriate duties within the capability of the apprentice, as directed

The successful candidate will need:

  • Confident IT skills with practical understanding of Word and Excel and interest in learning new IT skills and systems.
  • Good verbal communication skills, speaks clearly and professionally.
  • Good written communication skills, writes clearly with good spelling and grammar.

The successful candidate will need:

  • Interest and willingness to study and learn.
  • Ability to work with others and support others effectively within a team.
  • Reliable and conscientious.
  • Good personal organisation and administrative skills with the ability to self-organise to meet demanding deadlines.

  • Past experience is not necessary but a positive attitude to work is essential.

Qualifications required

To apply for this position, you will need GCSE English and Maths grade C and above or equivalent.

Future prospects

Apprentices will be encouraged to develop their role within the company, with the aim being that they be offered full time employment upon completion of their apprenticeship. Further progression within the company is desirable for the right candidate.

Things to consider

Wage rates: The company will look to pay the national minimum wage for the age range of the Apprentice. For those under 18, the rate is £4.05 per hour, based on a 40 hour week, the weekly wage is £162.00. For those 18-20, the rate is £5.60 per hour, based on a 40 hour week, the weekly wage is £224.00. For those 21-24, the rate is £7.05 per hour, based on a 40 hour week, the weekly wage is £282.00. For those 25+, the rate is £7.50 per hour, based on a 40 hour week; the weekly wage is £300.00. TCAT: Telford College are managing this vacancy on behalf of this company. The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices from the 1st April 2017 is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. The new NMW applies to time working plus time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by this age category above will be entitled to the NMW appropriate for their age.
