    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The role will cover all manner of administration related duties including:

  • General administration
  • Communicating with customers on the telephone and face to face
  • Maintaining and inputting data on databases
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries
  • You will develop the skills and knowledge to provide assistance to staff and internal/external customers in a polite and efficient manner.

As the business administration apprentice you will undertake and successfully complete the advanced business and administration programme within an agreed timeline.

Qualifications required

  • The ideal candidate will have GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade C or above in Maths, English & ICT.
  • Please note that Level 2 Adult Literacy and Level 2 Adult Numeracy will not be accepted.  This is due to certificate awarding body requirements.
