Typically this role will see you assisting with:

  • Dealing with telephone and email enquiries
  • Chasing progress of purchases with suppliers
  • Inputting data
  • Material requirement buying
  • Supplier negotiation
  • Invoice matching
  • Inventory control
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Liaising with colleagues

Successful completion of the Level 2 Apprenticeship would open up the chance to progress to a Level 3 and further sponsorship beyond to higher level qualifications.

Apprentices may go on to leadership roles in the Business so applicants will need to be self-motivated and able to set themselves challenging goals and objectives.

Qualifications required

You should have at least five GCSEs at grade C or 4 and above or equivalent, including English and Maths.

Future prospects

The successful candidate will be invited to undertake a 2 year Caterpillar apprenticeship, progressing to Level 3 after successful completion of the Level 2 qualification. This is an excellent opportunity to train with the best, in an industry where qualified personnel are in demand all over the world. Further sponsorship may include qualifying to HNC, Foundation Degree or full degree courses.

Things to consider

NOTE: If your application is successful, you must attend an initial interview with Bournemouth & Poole College before your details are put forward to this employer. This will be arranged by an invitation from The College. This is not an interview for the job. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

  • Level 2 Technical Certificate
  • Level 1 Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT
  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)

One day a week at College for six months of the twelve month course.

You will receive in-house comprehensive training and development on the job.

Health and Safety, Team working and Leadership are also integral parts of your Personal Development Programme.
