    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Future prospects

We would like to see this role progress in to a HR Administrator, HR Benefits or HR Advisor role, depending on the needs of the business. This would be a good starting point for a range of administrative roles within the business.

Things to consider

No weekend work. Office is closed on Bank Holidays. Free parking on site. This role is office and desk based, is very varied, in a fast paced environment. Most of the work is computer based and you will need to be a confident relationship builder. You will receive as much support as you need to achieve completing your apprenticeship.   • An additional 8/9 units can be chosen from a list of optional units.

How will I be assessed:

  • This is a practical course where students are expected to provide evidence through workplace activities and guided assignment work. In addition to this, 3 online exams will be required.

What award will I achieve?:

  • Diploma in Business Administration Level 2.
