Currently looking for an ambitious individual for a Business Administrator Apprentice role to carry out administrative duties and provide support to the employees based in the Civica Bristol office, and assist in the organization, delivery and continuous improvement of events whilst completing the Business Apprenticeship Qualification.

Responsibilities of the Business Administrator Apprentice:

  • Answer and direct as appropriate telephone calls made to the general Yeovil office telephone number and to the service desk
  • Greet visitors of both client and supplier organizations and direct them to the appropriate staff member as required
  • Act as the office Health & Safety representative, working with the central team to ensure that processes are followed and obligations are met
  • Act as a first aid and fire marshal representative
  • Ensure that the office supplies are stocked as required
  • Arrange maintenance of office equipment with designated suppliers
  • Address and facilitate the transportation of incoming and outgoing post
  • Assist with lunch orders, office room and hotel bookings as appropriate
  • Update and distribute office documentation as required
  • Provide task based support to the Sales, Marketing, Service Delivery, Support and Development teams as appropriate
  • Assist with the organization of office events and associated activities
  • Manage petty cash supplies
  • Report to the Health & Care Cito Operations Manager

Requirements of the Business Administrator Apprentice:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be able to take responsibility for principle accountabilities and be willing to expand responsibilities where capacity allows
  • Understand the need and importance of choosing appropriate styles and techniques based on the situation
  • Willingness to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check

Qualifications required

Someone with ideally

Future prospects

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programmes offer on-going development tracks.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Programme duration

  • L3 & L4 total duration: 31-39 months
  • Part 1 – Level 3 apprenticeship: 13-15 months
  • Part 2 – Level 4 apprenticeship: 18-24 months

Approximately 3% of training takes place in the QA learning centre classroom. 17% is done in the workplace, through workplace units, face-to-face meetings with your QA Assessor, or developing your portfolio. The remaining time will be spent on your workplace activity.

You will be working towards gaining a Diploma in Business Administration.
