Who you’ll work for

Reporting to the Network and Infrastructure Manger our client is looking for an IT Apprentice to assist their team in the day to day running of their network and systems. Also to support our users in their day to day use of the IT systems we provide.

As an IT Apprentice, your job includes:

  • Assisting end users with their computer use, including:
  • Windows / Office use
  • Online collaboration with Sharepoint / Office 365
  • Internal systems – The Gyron Portal, Phone System, Helpdesk, etc
  • Assist with cabling works within the offices and datacentres
  • Any other duties relevant to the position and the running of the company
  • Assist with installation, documentation and maintenance of Gyron network/server infrastructure including:
  • servers (windows/linux/vmware)
  • PCs and laptops, and the software on them
  • Desk and mobile phones, iPads
  • Access control
  • Backups/DR for important servers and systems
  • Network equipment
  • Monitoring systems

• Good analytical/ problem solving skills

• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with good relationship building skills.

• Self-motivated and keen to develop, with a willingness and desire to learn

• Keen to share knowledge with colleagues

• To possess initiative with an inquisitive nature, unafraid to ask appropriate questions

• Clean full UK driving license and access to own vehicle due to business requirements

• You will also be required to undergo full security checks to BS7858:2012

Qualifications required

You don’t need loads of professional experience in IT. However, you’ll need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including Maths, English and IT / Science.

By working hard and demonstrating your ability, drive and commitment throughout your 15 month apprenticeship scheme, upon completion you will be offered a permanent contract ensuring you have further opportunities to continue growing within this exciting organisation.
