    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

An exciting opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic character to join the Longlands family. Working in this award winning bar in superb surroundings, you will learn everything there is to know as a front of house assistant.

Duties will include:

  • Serving customers
  • Waiting on them pre-service and after service
  • Serving desserts

Due to the location, the director will offer no split shifts so that you don’t have to travel backwards and forwards. Shifts are typically 12pm-9pm 5 days per week.

Other duties will include cash handling, serving behind the bar and customer relations.

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
