    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Civicare East Ltd are looking for a Care Apprentice to work in the office, out in the field and as part of the on call emergency team. The role would consist of a minimum of 30 hours with extra hours available to boost wages.

We have previously employed an apprentice who is now our Training Manager so we know how we as a team can help you to achieve your qualification and meet your career goals.

24 hour support is provided as well as an intensive induction and continuous training programme.

The office role would include coordinating shifts, making and answering telephone calls, liaising with others, filing, paper work, computer work and other general office tasks.

Shifts work with the clients is in their own homes and would mean you would need to get from house to house so a car driver would be preferred for the role. Shifts would entail personal care, medication, housework, laundry, shopping, cooking, companionship ect. On a shift you would earn £7.80-£10.35 per hour.

Being a part of the On Call Emergency Team would mean taking the work phone home when the office is closed and dealing with emergency calls such as client enquiries and staff sickness. This pays £20 on a weekday evening and £100 per weekend.All shifts and on call are double pay on Bank Holidays.

Civicare East Ltd are a private home care provider providing care in individuals homes 24 hours a day with personal care, medication, housework, laundry, shopping, cooking, companionship ect. We do have a few clients with ½ hour calls but the majority of our shifts are 1hour+. We have a good reputation for providing a high standard of care, our Care Quality Commission result of Good shows this.
