An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to work for Henry Squire & Sons Ltd based in the west Midlands. Working within a busy environment, training will cover all aspects of PEO.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to work for Henry Squire & Sons Ltd based in the West Midlands. Working within a busy environment, training will cover all aspects of PEO in line with the company’s standard operating procedures. You will be assisting our Operations Managers in the day to day running of our production facilities. This includes all assembly, machine loading and packaging roles within our modern factory.
Once fully trained in all aspects of the production functions further training will be offered in the field of business improvement techniques. This will include setting up Kanbans, monitoring 5S programmes and running team based improvement projects.
The duties you will perform will be the following tasks:
- Machine loading
- Checking of machined parts
- Assembly of locks
- Product testing
- Packaging products
- Packing parcels for despatch
- Warehouse duties including use of fork lift trucks
Full training will be provided.
Requirements and prospects
Candidates must have an aptitude towards Engineering and be interested in working in an Engineering role and developing their skills in this area You must be willing to put in hard work and show willingness to learn new tasks and develop your skills in this area.
Good communication skills, attention to detail. Good time keeping and attendance essential, willingness to listen and learn, common sense and good attitude.
GCSE's or equivalent A*-C in Maths and English.
